David Sikorski’s Facebook newsfeed looks a lot like yours: it’s filled with numerous engagement, wedding and baby photos. Since he was getting a bit tired of seeing all these images over and over again, he decided to make his own set of cheesy engagement photos. The only ‘problem’? He’s not engaged, and his “one true love” is a delicious burrito.
The San Francisco-based writer used a carne asada burrito from Taqueria La Cumbre, his favorite Mexican restaurant in the Mission District.
The 28-year-old says that back in 2005 and 2006, his Facebook was filled with incriminating photos of his friends’ weekend escapades. But now, there are so many photos of staged afternoon picnics in the park or holding hands running along the beach, he decided to share the happiness of his own current love situation too.
Sikorski called Kristina Bakrevski – one of his music photographer friends – to help him out with the idea. The duo – and the burrito – hit the streets and various locations of San Francisco in order to take a series of romantic engagement photos.
They posed in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, smelled the roses at the Golden Gate Park, went for a stroll on Ocean Beach, had fun in front of the Palace of Fine Arts, and even organized a champagne picnic up on Alamo Square.
They haven’t set a wedding date yet, but over the next few months they’ll introduce their menu of friends to one another. Good luck, you two!
