For the love of burgers.
When a restaurant in Australia wants to give you free, delicious burgers for the rest of your life, you don’t say no. Or at least that’s what Mr Burger – a Melbourne-based burger chain – is hoping for.
There’s only one condition though. Mr Burger – which has four restaurants and a food truck – is reportedly offering a free burger a day to anyone who legally changes their last name to ‘Burger’, of course.
Burger enthusiasts need to send over a copy of the name-change confirmation to Mr Burger by the end of July in order to win a lifetime supply of the greasy goodness. The company’s website states that anyone over 18 can enter, and the restaurant will even cover the $104 name-change fee for each of the winners.
Maleik Edwards – the marketing manager of Mr Burger – said: “Last week was a pretty heavy week in news, between Brexit, the election and the crazy weather. We thought this was a great way of brightening people’s day.” He added: “It’s a bit interesting and fun, and it’s about celebrating the ridiculous things in life.”
People who already have the last name Burger are not eligible, but they can still get in touch with Mr Burger to receive some great vouchers. Edwards concluded: “We’ve had lots of people consider it, but we don’t know how many will take it seriously.”
