Cotton Candy Ice Cream Cones Are A Thing And We’re Obsessed

So much fluffiness.

Not all ice cream is created equal, just ask Milk Train Cafe. The London-based shop is now selling the sweetest, dreamiest dessert hybrid you’ll ever see: cotton candy ice cream cones.

The Instagram-worthy treat involves wrapping a layer of cotton candy around a cone and pushing it slightly inside, so it looks like your ice cream is floating on a cloud. The popular Covent Garden shop introduced the dessert two weeks ago, and it comes in 3 main flavors: matcha, vanilla and hojicha (roasted green tea).

Mike and Kylie – the founders of Milk Train – say: “Milk Train is inspired by our travels around Asia. Our starting line-up of flavors included tea flavors such as matcha (Japanese green tea) and a roasted version called hojicha, which may take some getting used to for those not familiar with tea-flavored ice-cream, so our solution was to add the optional cotton candy to balance the slight bitterness of the tea – plus it ended up looking so Instagram-worthy.”

The shop also offers regular guest flavors, such as mixed berry and chocolate, and customers can choose between a number of different toppings and sauces, including popcorn, panda biscuits and salted caramel bits. The cotton candy goodness is priced at £4.50 and people are waiting for up to an hour in order to get their hands on it.

But, the reviews say it’s all worth it. Instagrammers are praising the café, noting: “Absolutely worth the hype,”, and “I got 99 problems but an ice cream ain’t one.”

Good to know!
