Krispy Kreme Japan Releases Fruit-Inspired Doughnuts For Summer

When we think of summer, doughnuts are not usually the first thing to come to mind. But Krispy Kreme in Japan obviously disagrees, because the company is releasing its limited-time “Ring Ring Summer” doughnut offerings – and they look delicious!

Fans of the American doughnut company and coffeehouse chain in Japan will be able to get their hands on two brand new flavors: Lemon Glazed and Watermelon Doughnut. The highly-anticipated doughnuts’ release comes hot on the heels of Krispy Kreme’s launch of a doughnut ice cream sandwich in April.

The watermelon doughnut is glazed with watermelon fruit juice jelly and decorated with chocolate chips, while the green outline is made of “watermelon-flavored chocolate”. The second sweet treat is made with a lemon juice glaze, and topped with a lemon slice. Yummy!

Both flavors are priced at 230 yen ($2.16), and will be available from now on until July 19.
