Oh no she didn’t!
Don’t expect a Nicki Minaj/Miley Cyrus duet anytime soon! On Sunday night, the ‘Anaconda’ rapper confronted Cyrus – who was hosting the MTV Video Music Awards – while accepting the award for best hip-hop video.
During her acceptance speech, the 32-year-old star thanked her “beautiful” fans and her pastor, but then turned to the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer, who was on a nearby stage. Minaj said: “And now back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press – Miley, what’s good?”
The 2015 VMA host did an interview with the New York Times last week, and had accused Minaj of being jealous, and explained that the famous rapper had confronted music industry racism the wrong way. Following Minaj’s attack, Cyrus tried to be professional and said: “Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interview and we all know how they manipulate shit. Nicki, congratulations.”
The 22-year-old singer and actress then turned to the audience, twirled her hair and continued with the show. And even though many are speculating that the live feud was a PR stunt, it has been reported that Minaj was being serious and that she is genuinely mad at Cyrus.
Cyrus’ comments about Minaj were brought up after she was asked what she thought about an argument between the rapper and Taylor Swift. The ‘Bad Blood’ singer later apologized and the two have made up since then: they even shocked fans with a surprise performance on Sunday night.
