Kanye West debuted his Yeezy Season 4 line during the New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, and it’s safe to say the whole thing was a complete mess. According to multiple reports, the rapper’s show started almost 2 hours late, and it featured exhausted and overheated models.
Guests – fashion influencers and journalists – were trapped on buses en route to the highly-anticipated show, which was held at Four Freedoms Park on the tip of Roosevelt Island. People took to Twitter to express their frustration, noting that West failed to provide any food or water.
And it was even worse for the models, who were standing in the sun in nude bodysuits, black and camouflage army jackets and white hoodies. Before the Yeezy presentation even began, at least three models collapsed and sat down on the grass, exhausted from the heat.
During the production, model Amina Blue struggled to walk in her heels and eventually took them off. Another model – dressed in a black hooded jacket and thigh-high boots – almost lost control while attempting to wobble along in her broken heel.
Bruce Pask – the men’s fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman – stood up from the audience and helped escort the poor girl down the runway.
Meanwhile, as the models and guests wilted in the heat, stars including La La Anthony, Pharrell Williams and the Kardashians had front row seats. Kim Kardashian gave her husband a standing ovation at the end of the Yeezy Season 4 show, but others were not impressed. Stella Bugbee – editorial director at The Cut – concluded: “The most responsible thing we could all do would be to write NOTHING about this show. #YeezySeason4”
