A 9-month-old German Shepherd, often misunderstood by people as an aggressive dog due to his size, has an unlikely best friend: a postman. The pup’s owner, Michael Collins, says that he was touched to see his local postal worker stop by his home every day to spend some time with Kyza.
Collins – who lives in Tarungain in New Zealand’s North Island – explains that the friendly postman comes to see his pet even when he has no letters or packages to drop off. On August 1, Collins took to Facebook to share a beautiful moment between the duo.
He wrote: “Just want to share something cool! Everyday whether or not we have mail this mail man always stops to see my dog who is only 9 months old. He always gets over looked as a dangerous or unapproachable dog, Maybe cause he’s big i am not sure. He doesn’t bark at them or growl ( Maybe the odd couple times he barks at people but which dog doesn’t )
But this guy here always makes an effort to get off his bike to give him a hug and a pat! I’m not sure who to tag on Facebook for him to see this! But thanks man keep up the good job and you’ve definitely got a friend waiting for ya!!”
The adorable video has been viewed more than 2 million times since Monday, and garnered plenty of positive comments. Collins concludes: “I just wanted to show the positivity. You always see on the news about dog attacks and the whole stereotype of postie and dogs are challenged in this video.”
