Meet Annie Nolan, a blogger mom from Melbourne, Australia.
She has a son and twin daughters with her partner, AFL player Liam Picken. Considering the fact she spends a lot of time answering the questions of strangers about her two-year-old twin girls, Nolan came up with an interesting way to fend off all nosy strangers.
The 26-year-old – who blogs at Uncanny Annie – is bombarded by various questions about her twins on a daily basis, and she decided to answer the ones that are most frequently asked. Nolan wrote the answers on two pieces of paper and attached them to Delphine and Cheska’s strollers.
The notes read:
Yes, they are mine.
Yes, they are twins.
Yes, both girls
No, not identical
Yes, I know they look alike though.
Yes, I’m sure they aren’t identical
Conceived by f***ing
Born via C-section
You have twins in your family? “Great”
They don’t run in my family…until now.
Yes, my hands are full (sometimes with 2 glasses of wine just to get through)
Yes, triplets would be harder
The mom-of-three wrote on her blog that she was planning on leaving the notes on her daughters’ strollers as she was headed into town, but she decided against it in the end. Nolan said that she knows most people are coming from a great place, but the constant questions can be exhausting.
Nolan wrote a follow-up post after her photo went viral, and admitted she didn’t expect all of the attention for a harmless joke. The Australian blogger said that she never meant to hurt anyone with it, and that she is grateful for her children every day.
