Here comes the bride – AND the photographer!
When a professional photographer ties the knot, who is in charge of their photos? Liisa Luts from Tallinn, Estonia has the answer!
The bride-to-be – and a professional photographer – was set to marry her boyfriend on August 28, and the couple decided to do something unusual for their wedding. Luts and her partner run a small company offering photography, videography and animation services in the Estonian capital, and they agreed that Liisa would take their wedding photos, using a mirror when necessary.
Luts used a Fujifilm X-T10 to capture all of their wedding snaps, and once she shared them online, the positive feedback came pouring in. The bride managed to document the couple’s big day from the beginning until the end, and she posted intimate pictures of her and her new husband, as well as important details from the happy event, and traditional friends and family shots.
Luts explained that the couple didn’t want to have a big event and they did not want to put on a show. Instead, they preferred to avoid all the stress that comes with wedding planning and just make it legal and celebrate a bit. She knew that she wanted something different on her big day, and was not interested in having any posed beauty shots.
And even though most of the feedback the bride/photographer has received has been positive, some have said that wedding photos should be “more traditional”. Luts acknowledged this, and said that both views should be able to exist side by side and be tolerated as ‘each to their own’.
