One lucky couple got the surprise of a lifetime when none other than Tom Hanks jogged into their wedding photos. Newlyweds Elizabeth and Ryan were posing for pictures in New York City’s Central Park when the Oscar winner crossed paths with them.
On Saturday, wedding photographer Meg Miller had the ultimate celebrity moment when Hanks approached the bride and groom she was photographing. Miller says that most joggers in the park were staying far away from the shoot, but she had to put her camera down when “this guy” came too close to the newlyweds.
The guy approached Elisabeth and Ryan, “took off his hat, just leaned right into the group and said ‘Hi, I’m Tom Hanks.'” The Hollywood superstar then proceeded to shake hands, kissed the bride’s hand and congratulated the shocked – and delighted – couple.
Miller adds: “He asked if they needed a wedding officiant, because he is an ordained minister.” After taking a selfie with the newlyweds – which he posted on his Instagram and Twitter accounts – Hanks went off into the park to finish his jog.
Miller also shared photos of the sweet encounter on social media, with the caption: “Yesterday’s wedding was so beautiful! Elisabeth and Ryan you planned one amazing celebration. The icing on the cake was @tomhanks stopping in Central Park to wish them congratulations.”
