“Nickelback has sold more records than any other band in history. Period.”
On Saturday, President Trump’s spokesperson, Sean Spicer, held a press conference in which he lied about the inauguration crowd size. As a result, the White House press secretary has become an Internet meme on his first day in office.
The 45-year-old said: “This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe. These attempts to lessen the enthusiasm of the inauguration are shameful and wrong.” Spicer backed up his statement with a number of “facts”, which provoked a wave of outrage from American journalists.
And while experts and commenters discussed Spicer’s words, people on Twitter did what they do best: turned the whole thing into a hilarious meme. Since then, Sean Spicer’s ‘alternative facts’ have appeared all over social media, and they’re glorious.
