Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, died on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the age of 22. The couple’s only child passed away six months after she was found unconscious in the bathtub.
The Houston family confirmed the tragic news in a statement: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Bobbi Kristina was treated in a hospital for almost six months after she was found unresponsive and not breathing in the bathtub on January 31, at her Roswell, Georgia, home.
The incident happened nearly three years to the day after the ‘I Will Always Love You’ singer accidentally drowned in a bathtub in Beverly Hills. Even though Bobbi Kristina was initially revived, she was placed in a medically induced coma for her own safety.
On June 24, she was taken off medication and moved into hospice care, where her family members have been gathering for the last few weeks. She passed away peacefully just over a month later.
Celebrities took to Twitter to express their sadness and offer condolences to the family online:
